Mr. Coughlin is the founder and Managing Partner of Longroad Asset Management, LLC, where he leads the investment strategy and key negotiations and provides executive leadership for Longroad companies. He has been involved in distressed investing for the past 18 years and has extensive experience in leading creditors committees, negotiating reorganization plans, and assuming control of distressed companies through debt. As a chairman and board member of several companies, he also has general management expertise and has been a key player in assisting CEOs in refinancing and creating exit strategies resulting in significant returns. For nine years prior to forming Longroad, Paul was a Co-Founder and General Partner of CoMac Partners, LP, a distressed investment partnership where he raised and managed over $400 million.
Mr. Coughlin began his career in 1986 as a credit analyst in the Management Training Program at Irving Trust Co. (now The Bank of New York) and continued to specialize in distressed investing as he moved to Deltec Securities as a Senior Analyst and then as a Portfolio Manager of distressed securities at both Halcyon Investments/Alan B. Slifka & Co. from 1988-1991 and Whitehead Sterling in 1991-1992.

Mr. Coughlin earned a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Paul was a member of the lacrosse and hockey teams while at Georgetown and continues to play Masters lacrosse as one of the founding members of the Tsunami Lacrosse Club in lower Fairfield County, CT. Paul is the founder of Team Sufferfest which competed in the 2002 and 2004 through 2006 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. He has also competed in Ironman Canada, Ironman Lake Placid and Ironman Hawaii.
